Senior Network & Security Engineer (Cisco, Firewalls, L2 L3)
Long-Term Contract | Lisbon (Hybrid: 1 day onsite, 4 days remote) - Start date: February 2026
We are looking for an experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer to join a highly skilled infrastructure team supporting critical business services. This is a long-term contract role, based in Lisbon, offering a flexible hybrid working model (one day per week in the office).
You will play a key role in the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise-scale network and security infrastructure, while also providing technical leadership across projects and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement network and security infrastructure supporting multiple business units
- Provide operational support for daily activities and incident resolution in complex environments
- Lead and contribute to infrastructure projects, from design through delivery
- Act as a senior escalation point for network and security incidents
- Coordinate and lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality delivery across network and security domains
- Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and automation teams to improve efficiency and reliability
- Ensure operational excellence, stability, and security across the environment

- Management Platforms: Provider-1, Panorama, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer
- Load Balancers: F5 BIG-IP / BIG-IQ, A10
- L2/L3 Networking:
- Cisco ACI Fabric
- Cisco legacy platforms (Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k, 9k, ASR 9k)
- SSL VPN / SASE: Palo Alto SASE
- Monitoring & Observability: Netmetrix, Grafana
Automation & Tooling
- Security policy automation using Tufin
- Support for atomic function development for:
- Cisco ACI Fabric
- Palo Alto Panorama
- F5
- Close collaboration with DevOps teams on automation initiatives
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Proven experience leading technical teams
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
