FPG is proud to partner with a Global Leader in Network and Communications Technology to recruit a driven and customer-oriented Sales Engineering Manager for the Middle East.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a newly formed team, guiding technical strategy and engaging directly with customers to deliver tailored solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a solid telecom background, and the ability to align technical direction with business goals while working closely with regional sales and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
- Drive collaboration across sales teams to ensure successful joint projects.
- Lead discussions on product solutions, presenting them effectively to customers.
- Manage the entire proposal and forecast process, taking end-to-end responsibility.
- Assess market opportunities with Sales Leaders and strategize accordingly.
- Lead and develop a skilled Pre-Sales technical team, overseeing performance, feedback, appraisals, and recruitment.
- Mentor team members for growth and provide regular executive-level updates and business reports.
- Focus on optical transport and IP solutions, driving discussions on network architecture and value proposition.
- Stay informed on the competitive landscape, industry trends, and technological advancements.
- Lead the preparation of RFx documents and customer proposals.
- Track regional regulations and technological changes to identify new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong industry profile, contributing as a key influencer within the sector.
- Collaborate effectively across departments, ensuring alignment with senior leadership.
- Travel as needed (approximately 20%) to meet business objectives.
Key Requirements:
- Over 10 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry.
- Expert-level knowledge of Optical Transport Technologies (OTN, DWDM, DCI, etc.), as well as a solid understanding of Core Routing / Switching Technologies, protocols, and multi-layer network architectures (IP, Ethernet, MPLS).
- Strong background in the communications sector, with a practical engineering foundation and sales experience to complement technical expertise.
- Business acumen with a deep understanding of the sales cycle and its various stages.
- Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and demonstrate leadership through influence.
- Successful track record of senior/director-level engagements across multiple functions, including Commercial, Engineering, Product Management, and Services.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic, with the ability to convey technical and non-technical information clearly ( Arabic is preferred but not mandatory).
