FPG is recruiting, MEP Engineer on a 6-month rolling contract specialising in the design, construction, and maintenance of data centers. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency.

*** PLEASE NOTE - Only candidates based in the UK (5 years of continuous residence in the UK and have not left the UK for more than 6 weeks at a time) can be considered, due to the requirement for SC Security Clearance requirement ***



Key Responsibilities




  • Develop comprehensive MEP system designs for data centers, including HVAC, power distribution, lighting, water supply, waste management, and fire protection systems.

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.

  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, IT specialists, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall data center designs.

  • Implement energy-efficient solutions and sustainable practices to reduce the data center's environmental footprint and operational costs.

  • Ensure all MEP systems comply with local building codes, regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for MEP systems, diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure continuous operation of data centers.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of designs, installations, and maintenance activities. Prepare and present reports on system performance and project status.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP engineering, with a focus on data centers or similar critical infrastructure projects.

  • Proficiency in MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), energy modeling tools, and project management software.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. LEED accreditation is a plus.

  • In-depth understanding of data center infrastructure requirements, including redundancy, scalability, cooling, and power management.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
