Our client is looking for a mechanical design director to be based in Singapore. They are a fast growing data centre developer/operator with excellent sales and ambitious growth plans.
Mechanical Design Director
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall planning and design management of data centre projects, including defining design concepts, coordinating design processes, and reviewing construction documentation.
- Manage HVAC equipment procurement and bidding processes to ensure cost efficiency and compliance.
- Conduct preliminary data centre planning, covering capacity assessments, reliability analysis, and technical cost control.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve HVAC design management systems, standards, and technical manuals tailored for data centres.
- Research, evaluate, and implement innovative HVAC technologies to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
- Oversee lifecycle design management of data centres to ensure timely delivery, cost optimisation, and quality enhancement.
- Provide on-site technical support and guidance for HVAC engineering, ensuring practical and effective solutions during construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of data centre industry standards and regulations, including green building practices.
- Familiarity with national design codes, TIA-942 standards, and Uptime Institute Tier criteria.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in HVAC design management, with proven ability to independently deliver large-scale projects.
