Role: IT Technician
Location: Johannesburg
Role Type: Permanent, onsite
Are you an experienced IT professional who enjoys solving real problems, building robust systems, and making a meaningful impact - without being just another cog in the machine?
We’re looking for an IT Technician who wants to own their space, take initiative, and work at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and innovation.
This is an opportunity to be part of a lean, high-performing team in the renewable energy sector—supporting projects that reduce carbon emissions and reshape how energy is used across the region.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the go-to person for everything IT—keeping systems running, people connected, and data secure. Your focus areas will include:
Microsoft 365 & SharePoint
- Take ownership of SharePoint and Teams—design, optimize, and maintain collaborative spaces.
- Handle licenses, access control, user support, and ongoing improvements.
Internal Support & Troubleshooting
- Be the first line of support for all things tech—from connectivity issues to laptop crashes.
- Help the team make the most of Microsoft 365—sometimes through quick fixes, other times through smart training.
Network & Infrastructure
- Keep internal networks (routers, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi) humming smoothly and securely.
- Proactively resolve network issues and support infrastructure upgrades as we grow.
Cybersecurity & IT Best Practices
- Help embed security-first thinking across the business—implement MFA, manage patches, and keep our systems safe.
- Bring structure to IT operations by documenting processes, improving workflows, and making life easier for everyone.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll be someone who:
- Has 3-5+ years of hands-on IT support or systems administration experience
- Knows their way around Microsoft 365 and SharePoint like a second language
- Understands the basics of networking, firewalls, and endpoint security
- Is highly organised, self-managed, and thrives in environments where you’re trusted to get things done
- Communicates clearly and enjoys helping people (even when they ask you to reboot the router... again)
- Have experience rolling out IT policies in a growing company
- Are comfortable working across cloud environments and light scripting (PowerShell, for example)
- Have worked in industries like energy, engineering, consulting, or infrastructure
Why This Role?
- Purpose: Contribute to a company making a real difference in clean energy and sustainability.
- Autonomy: Own your space, bring new ideas, and shape how IT is done.
- Growth: As the company scales, your role will grow with it—new tools, new systems, new challenges.
