Job Title: Project Manager – Data Center & Network Infrastructure



 



6 month contract (extendable)



Starting December 2024



Remote based, with ocasional travel within EMEA.



 



Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager with extensive experience in managing projects related to Data Center POP sites, DWDM, and fiber transmission. The ideal candidate will lead complex infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient execution of installations at various sites such as Cable Landing Stations, Data Centers, POP sites, ILA (In-Line Amplifiers), and Exchanges. This role demands expertise in managing rack-and-stack deployments, cabling, power installations, and associated operations while maintaining budget and timeline commitments.



 



Key Responsibilities:




  • Project Planning and Execution:

  • Oversee end-to-end project delivery, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management for installations in diverse environments.

  • Manage on-site activities such as rack and stack, cabling, power installations, and hardware integration.

  • Ensure all work adheres to safety and compliance standards for critical infrastructure.

  • Infrastructure Installations:

  • Supervise installations within Cable Landing Stations, POP sites, Data Centers, and ILAs, coordinating with cross-functional teams.

  • Manage deployments of DWDM equipment, fiber transmission systems, and other network infrastructure components.

  • Financial Oversight:

  • Take ownership of the project Profit & Loss (P&L), ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.

  • Track budgets, optimize expenditures, and provide regular financial updates to stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams, vendors, and contractors to align project goals and timelines.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related matters, including progress updates and issue resolution.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including scope, requirements, milestones, and technical configurations.

  • Provide regular project status reports to leadership and key stakeholders.



 



Required Qualifications and Skills:




  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in data center infrastructure, telecommunications, or network engineering projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of DWDM, fiber transmission, and critical infrastructure systems.

  • Strong understanding of rack-and-stack deployments, power and cabling setups, and related physical infrastructure tasks.

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing P&L and driving cost-efficient project delivery.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred.



 



Preferred Experience:




  • Familiarity with working in high-stakes environments such as Cable Landing Stations and mission-critical facilities.

  • Hands-on experience with installation and troubleshooting of network hardware and transmission equipment.
