Our client, a major data centre developer/operator is looking for a business development director. They have a major amount of capacity under operation and construction and you will have lots of capacity to sell. They are already working with most of the top hyperscalers, you will be able to plug into them and develop sales with them across multiple countries. You should have proven results of hyperscaler sales in the data centre industry.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director to oversee our strategic relationships with hyperscaler data centre customers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the data centre industry and exceptional account management and business development skills. This role is crucial in ensuring our hyperscaler clients receive unparalleled service and support, driving growth and achieving business objectives.

You would be working with some of our existing hyperscaler customers and aiming to expand our business there, but also helping to break into other hyperscaler customers.


Key Responsibilities

Account Management:

  1. Serve as point of contact for hyperscaler data centre clients, building, maintaining and improving strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  2. Understand client needs and objectives to assist with how to design data centres to support them in future.
  3. Ensure client satisfaction by addressing concerns, resolving issues promptly, and providing ongoing support.


Sales and Business Development:

  1. Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  2. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling our products and services within existing accounts.
  3. Conduct market research and stay informed about hyperscaler trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to inform sales and technical strategies.


Reporting and Analysis:

  1. Prepare and deliver regular reports on account status, sales performance, and key metrics to senior management.
  2. Analyze account data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
  3. Develop and present business reviews and growth plans to clients and internal stakeholders.


Requirements

  1. Minimum of 8 years of experience in account management, sales, or business development in the data centre industry.
  2. Proven track record of managing large, complex accounts.
  3. Consulting skills with hyperscalers
  4. In-depth knowledge of hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and the data centre market.
  5. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into business solutions.
